What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.
WHAT IT IS Humania is Market Network for Life Experiences + a Revolutionary New Dating Platform on a mission to solve the Loneliness Epidemic by incentivizing people to dare to be Honest in order to find romantic relations, advice and/or community. On the surface we are a new kind of matchmaking app focused on “experience cards”, where people build their personal profiles (credibility) by sharing life experiences they have been though IN ORDER to be attractive to potential Dates AND/OR to be a Mentor with our life experiences to pay it forward to society by helping others (and/or to make money by „just sharing life experiences”). In reality our stool has three legs: 1. dating (surface layer to „lure people in”) 2. personal development (by mentoring and/or AI chatbots) 3. community (IRL groups, leaders, role models, belonging) It may seem that these are not related, but in our experience – dating/relationship does not work without personal development – most people in personal development want new relations – regular IRL groups are generally lacking in modern life – western society is in crisis, people seek belonging & community Whatever the life challenge is: it is much easier to not be alone. Humania is the place to meet new people – Date, Mentor, Community – YOU NEED for a happy life. – WHAT WE BUILD So far we had a web based MVP built for mentoring, and through this we learned that DATING around Life Experiences Shared is our strongest driver at the moment. So we did pivot. Now we build a mobile App: 1. it will revolve around experience cards – the UX will be close to Tinder, BUT your first impression from another person will not just be a picture and some general (bullshit) text, but something Brave he/she shared to go with the picture (we show the one experience card of every user that most people liked). 2. Based on this you then swipe to the next person (down), or open his/her profile to go deeper (right). users can also swipe left to exclude the person entirely, or swipe up to see the previous profile 3. the new App will ONLY offer Dating, AI chatbots, Mentoring and an available Groups Map – other features of our MVP (the administration of Groups, Mini Courses, Communities) stay in the web based version, advanced users will have to use a browser to reach these 4. we evolve our existing AI chatbot feature to also propose „matches” one should meet (for dating or advice) after each conversation with a user (based on the contents of the conversation and experience cards shared and past interests recorded). – VALUE PROPOSITION In Humania people can – build a personal profile, that is credible for total strangers to contact them – use Humania for honesty based „reverse dating” (instead of swiping pictures) – find advice/mentor with similar experience to challenges they have – empower strangers to safely contact them with transparent conditions – make money by just being honest about experiences by mentoring others – connect people they respect as mentee, be discoverable for his/her followers – browse the mentor tree by clicking on mentors and mentees of users While Experts/Leaders/Influencers can: – offer personal AI Chatbot based on their books-blogs-videos text – show one’s Mentees (transferring trust, giving space, opportunity) – offer Challenges (advice/course what people should try) for money – manage real life Groups & build Community consisting of IRL Groups – offer Challenge Journey for people to advance in personal development – WHY WE BUILD The fundamental idea behind Humania is exactly like Airbnb. But instead of monetary incentives to open up people’s Personal Physical Sphere (their Homes) our goal is to provide strong enough incentives for people show their Soul / Real Self (be Imperfect, Vulnerable, Human). We do this by the promise of Romantic Relations, Advice, Personal Mentor, Community (the opportunity to “Pay it Forward” or to Make Money). We do this to overcome isolation… Only honesty CAN obliterate loneliness in the world in our experience. Realizing our mission IS the top priority for our Team. Developers work remotely (and want to keep working remotely, and I Steve am open to move into other EU countries or the US with my family if the Cause requires (we consider this anyhow for our little daughter to learn languages).

How far along are you?
We have early traction and early revenue with our web based minimal MVP – and a “Bright as the Sun” vision of what we need to build next as our Mobile App. We also have GREAT enthusiasm & support from our users… In fact the USD 50K we raised so far mostly came from our early users who fell in love with the project. Strangers found the opportunity, filled out a form, signed the YC SAFE digitally and wired the money – most of them we never even met in person. Last but not least: we have success onboarding partners to our MVP, which proves that we are solving real pain points community leaders and influencers have. — HISTORY: We launched Humania MVP on 19th May, 2024 in a closed (not advertised) beta, with about 100 people, whom we invited via targeted comms… they liked it very much, used it as intended. And then the magic started happening: they came with ideas, and we had regular “epiphanies” talking to them in interviews we are continually leading. Then we kept toiling away building the features we saw we needed (mini courses called “Challenges”, co-ownerhip for Groups, etc.), and „soft opened” the MVP in October, 2024 for a wider audience. Still… to learn from their usage. Next breakthrough was the realization of a need for an AI chatbot feature for experts to offer their artificial version (based on TXT from books, blogs, videos). We rolled it out in Dec., 2024 – any user or community can now haven an Ai chatbot on Humania. Then we discovered that people try to contact each other for Dating. (They used consulting requests to get through to each other). So we added Relationship Status and filtering in February. The new Dating features skyrocketed incoming interest, and boosted Retention. Thus we pivoted in the recent weeks from mentoring to Dating first. Instead of just mentoring we became The platform for “Contacting New People You Should Know – for Dating, Friendship, Mentoring, Community – for free or for money”. – NEXT STEP: We need funding for our Dating focused mobile App based on our great success with Dating in the web based MVP. 1. We build a professional New App based on the learnings of the MVP where the 3 distant use cases will be separated while keeping them drive usage from the surface (Dating) towards Personal Development, and then Communities. 2. the Dating section of the new UI will resemble a dating platform much more, but your first impression from another person will not just be a picture and some general (bullshit) text, but something Brave he/she shared (we will show the experience card most people validated). 3. we want to evolve our AI chat feature to also propose Dates & Mentors, after each conversation with a user (based on the contents of the conversation as well as experience cards shared and past interests recorded). – CURRENT FEATURE SET: Our web based MVP enables people to 1. post „experience cards” of challenges they have solved on their profiles (successes they have achieved, adversities they have solved, that can be of use to others) 2. set relationship status and search based on relationship status 3. earn „credibility tags” by validation from 2 other members, who testify, that the experience I shared is of value to them (thereby making me credible) 4. give conditions for stragners to contact them 1on1 (for free or for money – in person or via telephone, Zoom, messaging, etc.) 5. launch IRL groups (mastermind groups, personal development groups, man groups, female circles, business dinners, AA groups, etc.) 6. manage their groups (number of places, gender limitations, waiting list, recurring events, message to members/applicants, reminder before the event) 7. have personal AI chatbot on their profile 8. offer challenges to others (mini online courses of things one should experience) 9. show other users as personal mentor on their profile & appear on Mentor’s page 10. show their mentees and personal feedbacks on their profile 11. have easy link to propagate: humania.me/username 12. see map view of users and groups Partners can 1. have Communities with monthly membership fees 2. these communities can offer: – AI chatbot – IRL groups – challenges (online courses) 3. show map of their community members and groups – GTM SUCCESS: Our GTM with the present MVP is B2B. Our main personas are: 1. personal development schools, for mentoring network and dating, 2. influencers with large following but no community, to launch a community 3. opinion leaders unable to handle incoming request for advice to show personal mentees. We put together a Partner Program and it works surprisingly well (our sexy AI Chatbot helps a LOT) – we are in the process of onboarding partner communities in our pilot market (among them: Club for Men, Boyscouts, Alpha Christian Community & others).
How long have each of you been working on this? How much of that has been full-time? Please explain.
First version of the idea (and the name Humania) came to me (Istvan) in 2015, while on our honeymoon in Sicily. Then for years I wanted it to also a social platform, where people mostly interact online (like Mighty Networks or Discord) – I even built a proof of concept using Mighty and WordPress and WooCommerce. (It had 1500+ paying customers, and a 66% NPS.) Then we started talking with Gábor & Co (the Dev Team), we even did a thorough planing, yet we could not shift gears for another year… Eventually a sentence cleared the fog: BE THE LINK PEOPLE POST ON THEIR COMMUNITY PAGES! – and we started working in earnest in 2023. Part time still. 2024 we spent experimenting & learning, then „the great pivot” came towards dating early 2025. – Now I – Istvan – am (almost) full time: working on product (testing & features), customer relations, GTM. Gabor and team are building Humania part time for now while they also make money as “developers for hire”. Investment is the key for them to build Humania full time. János, our COO is the „newbie” in the team. We met on an Alpha event 2 months ago, and then he entered the picture as an investor 1 month ago. Since then we discovered that our worldview is the same and we have the same goals, that we can best further through building Humania together.

MVP: We are using Next.js and deploy our platform to Vercel. We use Postgresql for database, React Email for emails, Mapbox for maps, and Stripe for payment processing. App: React Native, Next.js

We have: – 1,124 signups in the MVP – they shared 606 experience cards – 467 are paying customers Last 3 months Retention is: 74.55% Gross income so far: $2,242 (GMV) Top paying customers: – Hajnalka – $197.86 – György – $107.25 – Dóri – $93.12 – Szitás Anita – $88.54 They spent the money on membership fees, and courses.

We keep 15% transaction fee from transactions between our members (one time consultations, monthly support subscriptions, group memberships, community memberships & AI chatbot subscriptions) – and 30% on online courses. (Transaction fees on 1to1 consultation we have not yet imlpelemented, these escape us at present.)
Anything else you would like us to know regarding your revenue or growth rate?
1. We are at an MVP, our main purpose so far was testing features and willingness to pay – not revenue. 2. We started onboarding partners in March with our new AI chatbot feature, revenue will meaningfully jump in April even with this MVP 3. Our MVP can only handle membership fees and online courses – it does not yet handle consultation type transactions between users 4. Our real growth (thereby revenue) potential will only show once our „dating first” new mobile App is launched
If you are applying with the same idea as a previous batch, did anything change? If you applied with a different idea, why did you pivot and what did you learn from the last idea?
A LOT has changed… 1. Dating came in as a new feature and strong growth driver. People register for dating, stay for personal development to be ready for a relationship (and community.) 2. We pivoted towards Dating. We are no longer a mentor platform, but platform to connect „New people you should know”– our new App will be „dating first, mentoring second” 3. AI chatbot service is a new feature to lure in experts, community leaders and influencers, who onboard their community to use chatbot, form groups, facilitate dating. 4. We have a new Partner Program to onboard communities efficiently (even now, our MVP is string enough for communities to want use it). 5. our COO has arrived – materialized 🙂 –, with Janos Ratkay, who also invested 15K of his own money.

Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you’re making?
Humania is a New Life Incubator. We achieve this by changing people’s human relations. The most overlooked factor in people’s lives is other people they surround themeselves with. I have been helping people for close to 20 years, and came to intimately now over 1000 stories and this is what I found: (1) the best way to help a person advance in life is for them to let go of those people in their life who hold them back (have outdated expectations towards them), (2) we all have to have people in our life, it is nearly impossible to let go of people and have nobody, (3) in order for people to let go of outdated relations we first need to introduce new people to them. I never picked this idea…. The idea picked me – see video. Everything that Humania aims to give people has happened to me, and I have seen it happen to hundreds of people since. My short version: 1. was very successful .com entrepreneur in my 20s 2. I was arrogant and had f…ed up my life by 29 3. started writing about it with brave honesty 4. strangers came to me to talk 5. they started giving me money for my time 6. became an expert in the field of personal development 7. developed a Pers. Dev. method called Ego Mastery & built a School 8. am now watched by hundreds of thousands, people recognize me on the street I want to open up the path I discovered – I want other people to discover their worth. Through honesty. Everybody has something, some valuable experience they can give to others. IF they “just” dare be honest. Honesty works. I have helped over 1000 people by now, and ONLY honesty works. Also: I needed Humania myself to (1) shine a bright light on my Mentees, (2) to manage my own Groups and Community, (3) be able to offer a personal AI chatbot based on my blog-books and over 700 videos, (4) build a Journey of Challenges / Initiation for people to advance in life.
Who are your competitors? What do you understand about your business that they don’t?
Our “competition” is not competition for us, but their incentive structures are exactly THE PROBLEM we want to solve… Existing Social Networks and Dating Apps incentivize posing (showing the bright side / lying about our Self, our Life). The lack of honesty (denying our fundamentally imperfect condition) inhibits human connections, since people have to need each other to connect. People can not connect if everybody is (tries to be) perfect. 33% (!) of all adults worldwide report loneliness… in part because of this. ( https://www.mastermindbehavior.com/post/loneliness-statistics ) Their success results in loneliness – their success IS our opportunity. – OUR INSIGHT: Bravery to show one’s true (imperfect!) self is a magic that attracts other people, and can not be resisted. THE CHALLENGE: People are afraid to be Honest/Imperfect/Real more than death. THE SOLUTION: We provide stronger than ever incentives for our users to dare to be honest and show their real (flawed) Self – much like Airbnb brought new incentives for people to open their Homes to strangers. These incentives include: the promise of Romantic Relations, Advice, Personal Mentor, Community, gamified Membership levels & cathartic Rewards – the opportunity to Help Others (“Pay it Forward” to society) and/or to Make Money. – On a more philosophical level (sorry): we understand the power of nakedness. Most people try to get what they want by force, by deception, by lyes. We understand that if one is „just” brave enough to strip down to the bones and be honest: other people will want to Help / Cover / Connect. Radical honesty is irresistible. We help people discover this. Radical honesty regarding one’s life (not just success, but our human challenges) results in rock solid credibility, that entices other people to want to connect. Thriving despite our fundamental flawed/imperfect nature is the bedrock of our humanity. – Thus we only marginally compete with Facebook, Twitter & Co. We are the link you want to post on your FB/X profile. We are the link where people can See & Contact. – As for dating Apps: we disrupt the dating market entirely because we make our money on our mentoring functions, thus we do not have to make money on dating, and can offer it entirely for free.

Same as Airbnb brought private beds to market instead of hotels. The world now needs a tool to connect strangers – to re-connect humanity – and Humania seeks to become the platform to do it. We really feel we can, we should – we want to serve 1 billion people.

Until now we were only running a web based MVP – we learned enough to turn it into a Great App. We need to expand the dev team, and a COO is incoming. Our burn thus climbs to around 50K /month in 12 months. Burn in the next 12 months: $487,400 Burn in year 2: $625,200 With a buffer of 25% our raise target is USD 1M for 18 months (or USD 1,4M for 24 months). – We hope to join YC and we are sure we will raise abundant funds on demo day. (We literally prey that you let us join this late.) If not: we are currently talking to US and EU Seed Funds active in the CEE region. This we should be able to close within 3 months.
